Northwest Champion Auctioneer Chosen

Merle Booker, Booker Auction Company, Connell, WA won the four-state Northwest Auctioneer Championship at the contest held during the annual Washington Auctioneers Convention at the DoubleTree Hotel City Center in Spokane, October 3-5.
Booker is a graduate of Washington State University and has been auctioneering for over 29 years. In addition to the championship plaque, Booker won a $500 cash prize to be used to compete in the National Auctioneers Association championship contest next July.
Sam Taylor, Taylor Auctions, Tacoma, placed 2nd in the championships and Brady Hammrich of Stokes Auction in Port Orchard, WA was 3rd.
Clint Cord of Showcase Auctions in Hayden, ID won the Northwest Auctioneer junior championship for auctioneers with three years or less of experience. Second place in the Junior Division went to John Glenn of Musick & Sons Auctioneers & Appraisers in Eagle, ID.
Eighteen auctioneers competed in the contest open to auctioneers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
