2006 WAA Convention Oct. 8 & 9 in Pasco, WA

The Annual Washington Auctioneer’s Association Convention will be held Sunday and Monday, October 8-9, 2006, at the AmeriSuites in Pasco, Washington. For hotel accommodations call 509-543-7000. Be sure to mention that you are with the Washington Auctioneers Association to recieve the reduced rate!
This year’s event features Ron Evans, CAI-AARE-CES. Ron was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Auctioneers Association in 1987 and 2004. Ron is the President, CEO and chief auctioneer of Capital City Enterprises, in Washington, DC; as well as the principle auctioneer with J. Ford & Ann Auction & Realty Co. of Fort Washington, Md. Ron conducts live auctions for both firms, selling real and personal property as well as performing several fund raising auctions for many non-profit organizations. President George W. Bush appointed Ron to be the chairman of the National Capital Revitalization Corp/Redevelopment Land Agency Revitalization Corp.
A highlight of the convention will be the 7th Annual Northwest Champion Auctioneer Contest to be held Sunday night at 7 p.m. Auctioneers from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, who belong to their State Associations, are eligible to compete. There is a $500 cash prize for the winner in the senior division. A junior division, open to auctioneers with three years or less experience, will also be held.
The Washington Auctioneers Association convention begins at 8 a.m. Sunday and ends at noon on Monday. The registration fee is $150 per person if registered by October 1st and $175 if registered thereafter.
